Postcard/Logo Thumbnails

The thumbnails below represent ideas for a post card and a logo for a Foreign Exchange company named Forex Fission. The rectangles with lines represent "Candle Sticks" which are used when charting and represent a move in the market. The face with the horns is supposed to be a bull I know horrible drawing ... but a "Bullish" market is a market that is moving upwards representing gains instead of losses.

Brochure Outline/Thumbnails

Group Three – Michael, Hailey, Tatiyana, and Anthony
The topic in which we agreed upon as a group is to create a brochure about Buffalo, NY. This brochure will entail details about the local sports franchises, the best places to eat food, and the best-known places for entertainment and leisure.
We will graphically communicate each of our topics through pictures of each topic on its chosen page. We will choose several fonts that we all agree on as a group. The fonts chosen for the main headers and title of the brochure will match each other on every page. The subheader fonts will match each other on every page along with the text font to create cohesion. The incorporation of stylish fonts and graphics that grab the reader’s attention is what will help make this successful. Each section will explain different aspects of Buffalo will have its own twist to it. Although the concept of the brochure is to explain the positives of Buffalo in cohesion there must be something that grabs the eye and keeps readers interested. This brochure is being created to effectively communicate the positive aspects of Buffalo and to persuade people to want to come to visit. This is also being used to encourage and introduce people who are already here visiting or that live here to places they may have never been to before. In order to make this a successful brochure we must collectively work together and stick to the plan while each group member executes their role.
The idea of this brochure is meant to be fun and creative we will make the city of Buffalo look bright and exciting. With our knowledge of using the creative cloud this semester, we can collectively come together and make this project prosper. Displaying Buffalo in a positive light is something we all would like to accomplish, and we are determined to do.

The Horrors of Tiger Poaching

Poaching is one of the most immediate threats to wild tigers.in relentless demand, their parts are used for traditional medicine, folk remedies, and increasingly as a status symbol among some Asian cultures. Tigers are also illegally killed or poached because their pelts are valuable on the black market. Poaching is directed by increasingly sophisticated and well-armed criminal gangs and is estimated to be worth around 11 billion per year.
The demand for tiger skins and tiger bone wine is booming as wealthy businessmen buy these goods to prove their wealth. These products are also used as bribes for promotions within corporations. Poachers also use poisoned carcasses of a tiger’s prey to kill them. In the hot season, they dig shallow pools and fill them with poisoned water.
In order to catch a tiger, steel traps are laid in known tiger trails. Once trapped the animal is left to struggle all night until exhaustion sets in from attempts to escape. After this simple blow to the head will kill the tired animal.
To put an end to the illegal poaching of wild tigers, work needs to be done towards reducing demand for tiger skins, bones, parts and derivatives. Demand reduction is about the wider public awareness, consumer behavior change, reform in policies, and strengthened law enforcement.
While there have been great strides in diverse demand reduction campaigns for elephant ivory and rhino horn, an equivalent emphasis ,
and level of investment in campaigns to reduce demand for tiger parts and products are urgently needed. There are only 3,200 tigers left in the wild. Donating money towards campaigns and efforts can help, sharing posts, pictures and videos about the issue can help as well.

Visual Communication in 2020

The two most responded to types of communication are visual and audio. People respond to visual forms of communication every day. For example, when driving a vehicle. A stop sign is known as a visual form of communication that symbolizes the operator of the vehicle to stop. If people didn’t respond to this, it would cause accidents. The same can be said for traffic lights. Green means go, yellow means slow down, and red means stop. Traffic lights essentially direct traffic through visual communication.
Audio is another important form of visual communication. People listen to music every day. Whether it be the radio or through a mobile device people use music in the audio form to communicate a message to the listener. This message can be used to motivate or tell a story that can help someone. Audio communication can often be paired with visual communication. A movie is a great example of this. The movie is visually communicating what the audio is saying.
When it comes to visual communication a necessary tool is the “type” of visual it is. There are so many ways to communicate visually. What differentiates the response to visual communication is the type of visual it is. For example, stores usually have a sign in the window that indicates if the store is “open” or “closed”. If the sign says to open it visually indicates that consumers are welcome. If the sign says closed it visually indicates that consumers are not welcome at this time. A different type of visual communication could be a music video. This type of visual communication is used for entertainment instead of direction as the store signs are. If you have a favorite song it most likely has a video to accommodate it.
Brands, companies and people use visual communication to reach their target audience. Nike is probably one of the most successful companies in the world that do this. People all over the world see the Nike swoosh logo and immediately know what company it represents. In fact, a lot of people might even say subconsciously “Just Do It”. Nike is so good at visually communication their logo with this slogan because they combine visual communication with other forms of communication.
Drake is one of the most famous music artists in the world. Mainly because he has combined audio communication with visual communication. Drake became famous because of his relatable music. When he chose to use visual communication in addition to his audio communication his fame blossomed to another level. Including music videos, cover art, and photoshoots to his music helped the world see what they were hearing.
The NFL is an organization that runs the most popular sport in the world, American football. The logo of the NFL is known around the world mainly because they brand the logo on everything they do. Every football game is visually broadcasted weekly. The teams have logos on their helmets. The NFL logo is branded on everything they own and broadcast.
